The primary focus of the National Talent Quest Ministry is to give our youth the opportunity to discover, develop and deploy their God-given talents and acquired skills for active ministry in fulfilling the Great Commission and thus glorifying God. This is a part of the renewed emphasis on spiritual gifts in our church. The secondary focus of the ministry is to provide a vehicle for the training of our youth in the following areas:

 1. Discipline

To compete and win on local, district, conference, or national level requires discipline to practice, practice, practice; discipline to be on time; discipline to memorize; discipline to work hard and do your very best.

2. Sportsmanship

To compete against your friends requires the development of true sportsmanship: the ability to win with humility and charity, to lose with grace and dignity, and, if defeated, to rejoice with the winner and be glad for them.

3. Christian Values

Each competitor must present talent which is "Christian" in its content. It must contain a "God-honoring" message or theme. This requires time evaluating and understanding the significance of a presentation.

 STRATEGIES:

·         Provide opportunities for participation and competition at the local, district, conference and national levels

·         Provide national guidelines for competition at all levels

·         Provide constructive evaluation that encourages continued development of talents and skills

·         Encourage local and conference leaders to utilize the talents and skills of our young people in fulfilling the Great Commission
